課程介紹:
The goal of this course is to provide a comprehensive understanding of project finance— its key components, applications, advantages, and challenges. By the end of the course, students will be able to identify projects that meet the essential criteria for project financing and will know how to structure a basic project finance deal.
The course will cover the critical factors involved in project financing, including product markets, technology, sponsors, operators, off-takers, environmental considerations, consultants, taxes, and financial sources. A key focus will be on the principle of risk allocation—assigning risks and responsibilities to the parties best suited to manage them. Various financing sources will also be explored, such as commercial banks, equity investors, bond markets, and leasing options.
Financial modelling will play a vital role in understanding a project's economics, risks, and sensitivities. Additionally, guest speakers from the industry will be invited to discuss real- world topics such as current market trends, contracts, hedging, the role of consultants, and other relevant issues.
